I’ve been a big fan of David Kravetz’s travel blog and photo essays for several years. So when I heard he was writing books, I could hardly wait to grab a copy!“Less Beaten Paths of America: Quirky and Offbeat Roadside Attractions,” not only lives up to its name, but simply leafing through the table of contents will make you smile as you come across chapters with names such as “Giant Cows, Pink Elephants and Other Big Animals,” “Dinosaurs and Dragons,” and “Paul Bunyan Across America.”A good travel book ignites your wanderlust, but a great one takes you on an entertaining journey even as you sit at home. David's personality shines through this travel guide. It's never dry or boring. And not only does the author take readers on a delightfully quirky road trip across America, but in a chapter entitled “How Do I Find All these Quirky Places?” he explains his travel methods and shares some interesting background about his travel philosophy.I look forward to reading more books by this author! I was happy to see that “Quirky and Offbeat Roadside Attractions” is only the second book in an entire twelve-book series of “Less Beaten Paths of America.”I’ve gotta say, if the next ten books in the “Less Beaten Paths of America” series are are fun as this one, we are in for a wonderfully wild and quirky ride!
