For those of you that thought living colour was the first black rock band guess again . I grew up in the Berkeley, Oakland music Cold Blood, yes I said Cold Blood . Do your reseach, and check them out as well. I could never figure why everybody was so hot for Janis, when the bay had lydia Pense. Anyway I digress.I was lost looking for a black rock band ,and who pops up? FUNKADELIC, AND IT BLEW MY FUNKY MIND. AMERICA EATS ITS YOUNG IS THE BOMB, if you don't own it, buy it, early funk at its best. It's even got country & western flavours as well. Oh did anyone say Beatles influence hmmmm. Can you get to that? Holla at you folks later .cbmiles @[email protected]. let's talk real music here folks. songs like "You Hit the Nail on the Head", "Wake up" "Loose Booty", "Biological Speculation" Miss Luicfer's Love", and my favorite "Joyful Process" because it reeks of all the Pre-Funk and Parliament style of instrumental work. Talk about being a diverse band, here is diversity in your face. Talk about being Classic, this predates classic as only songs like "all your Goodies Are Gone", and "Moonshine Heather" can. This is Funkadelic Music in an altered state, sit back and brace yourself for the unexpected pureness of FUNKADELIC.
