Five stars is maybe a little over the top for a rom-com, but this comes pretty darned close. At least this time around. I saw this when it first came out and liked it -- it was amusing, and the scenes were good. This time though, it was hilarious! I think because, since I was familiar with it already, I paid a lot more attention to the subtleties and what was going on in the background, and that was the cherry on the cake. Everyone was over-acting, which is typical in a comedy, but they took it JUST TO THE EDGE and never went beyond (which is where most comedies trespass into "stupid".) That takes real skill, to know just how far to push a joke. Christopher Walken practically climbing into the camera, and Tucci's response (nearly identical to my own); Crystal's "They're calling it the Blair Bitch Project!"; Roberts' impulsive comfort eating -- they're like comedy Easter eggs sprinkled throughout the movie. Don't blink or you might miss one! Everyone's character portrayal was so consistent and spot-on -- I think the acting is the real star of this movie. If you read the plot, you might think, "Meh," but it's the way it's carried out that makes this so fun.
