I got this book to garner up some gambits and facts about how appalling Bush is. However, I was annoyed to discover (having not read inside 1st) that this book was yet another partisan rant about how terrible the man is rather than a reasoned argument. The book is truthful in what it says and is fairly well researched. However 'It ain't what you say, it's the way that you say it' and this author has none of the charm and skill of someone like Dawkins or Moore, and instead adopts an Ann Coulter style approach, where they hope to change your mind by pure rage (rather like an Orwellian 2 minute hate). The one redeeming virtue this book has is its alphabetisation (like a dictionary of issues). This is sub formatted into little stories, which makes for easy usage. Unfortunately, despite much searching, I've found it impossible to get away from the desperate rantiness of the author, meaning that it is a well formatted poor book as opposed to a poorly formatted good one!So, I hate to say it, but this book is not the gambit-laden tour-de-force it appears. I haven't read The Bush Hater's Handbook, but I suspect the same flaws. If anyone can recommend me a well reasoned, witty, anecdote-filled book on the subject (that isn't Michael Moore), please leave me a comment below - I'm all ears!
