Crater Lake National Park - Stunning Photos & History | Images of America Book | Perfect for Travel Enthusiasts & Nature Lovers

This book is a nice collection of older photos of C.L.N.P. with some historical text. I am not sure why the other reviewer said there weren't too many pictures because the book has pictures on every page of the main content. My main problem with this particular book is that it is like the author was given a random group of photos and a random group of C.L.N.P. commentary and asked to make a book out of it. Many of the photos have no specific provenance, so the underlying captions or commentary are not always associated with the photos. Photos seem randomly placed. For example, in the first chapter that deals with early discoveries of Crater Lake, there is a photo of the lake that includes the Sinnott Memorial structure while in the next chapter we have a picture of tourists on top of the rock outcrop where the Sinnott Memorial structure would be built. The pictures would have made more sense switched around. The book also mentions in commentary about the "Lady in the Rock" carving, but no photo of it is in the text. It is still there! Go take a picture and stick it in the book! For these main reasons my score is 3 out of 5.
