In Richard Otto's latest book, "The Hidden War; The Desecration of the Promise of America" we are shown a mosaic of short essays about varying topics that tend to deal with parts of our power structure that have gone array. We learn more about the assassinations of the 60's, about modern day propaganda from the main stream media, and other various topics that all depict how the powerful maintain their control over our society. In the age of "fake news" and "alternative facts" it is a breath of fresh air to read about our history and current events without a political filter straining out relevant parts. Wether you're on the right or the left, or somewhere in between, you will find the facts, if you will, the foundation of the issues for you to see and interpret. You may not always agree with Mr. Otto's interpretation of the facts, but you will always understand the issue and where he is coming from. I found that his underlying premise, that the power elite of this country have bought the rights to our politics, our media, at at times our history, to be undeniable. Even if you find that you disagree with some of the specific assumptions he makes in some of his essays, you will still find it very interesting and applicable to other current issues. He goes to great lengths to educate one on the patterns of propaganda that the corrupted elite use to confuse, sway, and even convince us about false narratives pertaining to past and current events. In the end each topic could be discussed at length on its own, all put together you end up with a disturbing "Desecration of the Promise of America" by the corrupted power elites. Mr. Otto's book I find to be a great educational tool.
