Being somewhat familiar with the hauntings on the historic main street in St. Charles gave me the incentive to purchase this book. I was definitely not disappointed and couldn't put it down! Mr. Henry presents the information contained within like a true expert. He gives background history on the buildings as well as the factual stories behind the hauntings.One story told within makes reference to a fire in a restaurant. While I was aware of the fire at the time it happened, I was not aware of the circumstances behind it until now. This is a great book for any person who is familiar with St. Charles or plans on visiting and would like to hear real life ghost stories. For anyone who may question if St. Charles is teeming with the afterlife, the answer is definitely yes!
