Tempted to give this a 2-star rating but the content allowed for a 3-star. This book has one huge near-fatal flaw....all the numbers are in metric system terms. Yes there is a conversion table but do you really want to make a copy of that and then have it in hand every time you read the book? I don't. I seriously considered returning this rather expensive textbook. You can't tell me that the vast, vast, vast majority (I bet above 95%) of users/readers/buyers are located in the United States. The metric system for this book makes zero rational sense. The guys who wrote and contributed to this text may be complete brainiacs but they didn't seem to apply much common sense to this endeavor. Reading this with all metric numbers is a real chore. The English system equivalent should have been in parentheses next to each metric number. Its like you have to psych yourself up to read it each time knowing that the metric system numbers are virtually meaningless to you. If you are a scientist by trade maybe it would be more fun to read.........but for the rest of us the topic is interesting and enjoyable but the numeric data knock down what should be a great read. Totally frustrating in my opinion.
