Our Chevron Low Profile Supports are designed to provide the strength that comes from a gusseted metal bracket. The material thickness of the Chevron is ¼” steel or stainless steel L-bracket with a width of 2". Despite it's sturdiness, the Chevron is simply beautiful. We design our brackets with a tab and slot weld so there is no visible weld on the front of the bracket. The slot is then filled with a 1/2" of weld. According to the American Welding Society (AWS) Standards, a ½ inch weld can withstand an ultimate load of 1,200 pounds. A plug weld is calculated to resist at least a 600 pound shear force across the weld.
